YARN is built with the mission to level global knowledge-production, especially knowledge about the African continent, by jump-starting the careers of future African researchers in all disciplines. To start this exciting movement, YARN is inviting applications for our soft-launch program. The program takes place for half a day, and is designed to introduce participants to the most pertinent skills and information for a career in research.

Successful applicants to the launch program will also be fast-tracked in their application to be a fellow in our inaugural cohort of the YARN Mentorship Program[a]. It will connect mentees to experienced mentors in their research fields of interest, expose them to research opportunities and provide funding for research projects. YARN is supported by Knight-Hennessy Scholars at Stanford University.

If you are an African university student (in an undergraduate program or a maximum of 5 years post-graduation) who is interested in a career in research (inside or outside of academia), then apply below to join us for our launch program on May 18th.
